ATTENTION ALL VETERANS!

The Governor's Annual "Veterans Day in Georgia" Proclamation Signing Ceremony honoring Veterans Day 2009 being held Thursday, October 29, 2009, at 1 p.m., inside the State Capitol Building.

Veterans Day recognizes the significant contributions of the millions of our citizens whose military service had a profound effect on history. Through the years, Veterans Day programs have provided millions with a greater appreciation of this significant part of America's heritage.

All citizens on that day should pause, reflect, remember, and honor our veterans, past and present, our MIAs and the survivors of those brave and courageous Americans who sacrificed their tomorrows so that we can have our todays. The service and sacrifices made by those Americans in the past, and those now serving on active duty, enables us to enjoy the peace and freedom in the greatest nation in the world, the United States of America.

Let's make the observance of Veterans Day 2009 on Wednesday, November 11th felt in every community in our state.
