Supermarket Of Veterans Benefits Set For Dec. 10 In Griffin

The GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS SERVICE and the U.S. DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS, in cooperation with thirty-five other state and federal agencies, have conducted forty-three "SUPERMARKET’S OF VETERANS BENEFITS" in fourteen Georgia cities.  (Columbus, 5; Augusta, 4; Rome, 4; Macon, 4; Atlanta, 1; Athens, 1; Albany, 5; Savannah, 5; Gainesville, 3; Waycross, 2; Dalton, 3; Valdosta, 3; Griffin, 2; and Brunswick 1).

Another of these one-stop counseling and information service centers has been scheduled for GRIFFIN on THURSDAY, DECEMBER 10, 2009.  It will be held from 10:00 a.m.until 3:00 p.m. at the National Guard Armory, 1015 South Hill Street, Griffin, Georgia 30224.

We invite you and members of your organization to participate and assist in bringing this service to our veterans, active duty military personnel and their dependents. For participating organizations, we request that their representatives be there by 9:00 a.m.

At 11:00 a.m. on WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 2009, we will meet with MAYOR DICK MORROW at One Griffin Center, W. Elmer George Municipal Hall (Courtroom), 100 South Hill Street, Griffin, Georgia 30224.  At that time, MAYOR MORROW will sign a proclamation designating DECEMBER 10, 2009 as "SUPERMARKET OF VETERANS BENEFITS DAY" in GRIFFIN.
